It is entirely possible – but it would take a very long time! The closest star to us other than the Sun is Alpha Centauri, which is about 4.5 lightyears away from us. This means it takes 4.5 years for light to travel to us from the star. To travel there, we would have to build a spacecraft that could accelerate as close as possible to the speed of light in order to shorten the journey as much as possible. Such a mission would need a lot of fuel and would likely be a one way trip!
