Yes, most of the time. I get frustrated when I don’t understand something (that happens quite a lot actually) but I love it when I finally “get it”. And I really enjoy other aspects of the job too, like teaching, outreach (this kind of thing), chatting to colleagues. And it is very pleasing when we publish papers in journals because that means we have done some work that other respected scientists think is good.
I definitely enjoy what I do! Sometimes it’s hard work, sometimes I can be stuck on a problem for months, but the feeling of success when I figure things out in the end makes everything else worthwhile. I wouldn’t want to do any other job!
I do enjoy what I do! It’s a lot of work, and if I didn’t enjoy it, I could find something else to do, but I’d like to keep on studying space for a while longer!
I enjoy it 🙂 It took me a couple of years to find this area, so I didn’t start enjoying it straight away. After university I didn’t know what I wanted to do so it took a while to find my feet, but now that I have, I’m continually learning, and it’s stuff I’m interested in so it’s all good!
