• Question: do you think we will ever discover other ways to become pregnant?

      Other than the obvious way of getting pregnant… there are other ways already of conceiving.

      You could use intrauterine insemination, where sperm from a donor are put into a woman’s womb close to the time of ovulation.

      There’s also in vitro fertilisation, IVF, where eggs are removed and fertilised in a lab before the embryos are placed back into the uterus to grow.

      So those are a couple of ways where it’s already possible 🙂

      @rupertbear In the future, genetic screening will become commonplace to look for abnormalities. Also, experiments being carried out now on mice show that it may be possible to develop the sperm and egg from stem cells, eliminating the need for any male/female interaction at all. However, this will be many decades in the future, if at all, and, of course, carries with it a lot of ethical controversy.
