• Question: how hot does the sun actually get on the hottest day of the year???????

      The sun actually stays the same temperature (the surface is about 5’800K, or ~5’500 degrees celsius!), what changes are the conditions on the Earth. In Summer the earth is closer to the Sun due to the orbit around the sum being elliptical and not circular. You will also have good weather conditions on the day, with no clouds etc.
