A galaxy is on a much bigger scale than the planets! The planets are small objects orbiting a star, with very little gas and dust floating between the planets, and there’s a solar wind from the star in the center that surrounds the planets.

A galaxy is a huge disk of billions of stars (and their planets) and gas and dust, all orbiting a central black hole, which is many tens of thousands of times larger than any given star.
