• Question: Is there any extreme forces rather than gravitational force and electromagnetic force that will be involve in your study?

      There are only two other so-called ‘fundamental forces’, the weak nuclear force and the strong nuclear force. Both act only over very short distances, only in the hearts of atoms in fact. Neither of these are directly involved in my work (mostly I study the electromagnetic force) but they’re studied by particle physicists and some astronomers.

      @Benco Lam I too don’t deal with the nuclear forces directly, although gravity and electromagnetism are very relevant for me. But I do deal with some pretty big pressures when looking at planetary cores – the pressure in the earth’s core is 3.5 million atmospheres – that’s 3.5 million times what you experience on the surface of the Earth. That’s pretty squashed !
