I would love to see what all the students say afterwards. And I would love for it to be that they enjoyed themselves and are more enthusiastic about science as a consequence!

Obviously the prize money would be awesome too, then I could go and do this more in person too 🙂

I hope that at least one person who wasn’t going to study science changes their mind and becomes a scientist. I hope every single one of you out there ends up with a better idea of who scientists are, what we do and how we do it. And I hope that by the end of it, I’ve learned how to better answer all the difficult, interesting and brilliant questions you’ve all been asking so I can be better at talking about science to people!

This is very much a personal development thing for me – I already enjoy practical outreach but this is a format I have never done before. It’s great to reach so many of you so easily and communicate our passion for what we do. Communicating science can be very difficult, it has to be aimed just right for the level you are talking to, and I believe this has hugely helped me out in that respect.

I hope we’ve shown you all that going into science is worthwhile and can be a very fulfilling career choice that is rewarding and fun! It’s great that you guys are already asking so many questions, and I hope this will spur you on to ask more – as that is what science is all about!
