• Question: What grade did you get for your GCSE science? (Or whatever exam you took)

      @ Nikki0333 exams were slightly different when I took them, but I go an A in physics and chemistry and maths ‘O’ level. I then went on to do them at ‘A’ level but did really quite badly! And look at me now!

      I did Standard Grades in Scotland, which don’t exist any more, but I got grade 1 (top grade) for maths, chemistry and physics. I didn’t do biology, but I wish now that I had.

      I was in a totally different system, so the closest thing to a graded exam before university I took was the SAT – at the time there was a Verbal & a Math section, and you could take subject exams separately, so I took the SATII for physics and French, I think. I did pretty well on those exams (they’re scored out of 800, and I was above 700 for all of them, but don’t remember the exact numbers except that I got a perfect score on the verbal). The SAT is now marked on a different set of criteria, so what I remember is pretty useless these days.
