      To be honest, I’m always amazed that it works at all!

      It doesn’t surprise me that experimental science tells us something about the world. If you want to know how something works, an experiment is the obvious way to find out. It’s not at all obvious that sitting around doing maths should tell us anything about how the real world works. But it somehow does, and I think that’s amazing!

      I work on quantum theory, which is my favourite aspect of it because it’s mind-bendingly weird at times. Sometimes I don’t even understand my own equations, but figuring them out is a lot of fun!
