@wolf spirit ( Ox0) Well to be honest, looking at the fabulous responses of my competitors, nothing! As I said in an answer to another question, if I can make one person a science convert, then, irrespective of who wins, I will have done what I came to do and will be delighted.

I’d love to win and I’ve got some great plans for the prize money, but ultimately I just love talking to people about science. Taking part in this competition has already been great fun and I hope other people are learning as much as I am! If people who enjoy my answers vote for me, then that would be brilliant, but I think the real prize to all the scientists in this group is that we get to share our science with interested people, and we all achieve that just by taking part.

Honestly – and the other scientists have echoed this sentiment – the main goal for me is not to “win” but to be an effective communicator to you students. If that means that you all also think I’m doing a good job and vote for me, that’s great! But if I don’t win, and some of you students are sitting in a different place, thinking about the world a little differently than you did before, I have already won my goal.
