I don’t work with dangerous liquids as part of my work, so I think the most dangerous thing I’ve dropped on myself is a chair.

I’ve dipped my hand into liquid nitrogen before, and occasionally spilled it on myself – that’s a liquid at -196C so if you’re not careful, it can sting a bit! I did it on purpose though, so it was all safe.

There’s a video in my profile (under the ‘what I’d do with the money’ section) where I briefly demonstrate this. It’s called the Leidenfrost effect, and it can only be done if you’re trained, experienced and daft enough to think it’s a good idea to put a -196C liquid anywhere near your skin!

I once worked on something next to a vial of hydrofluoric acid, which is incredibly dangerous. It can be absorbed into your bones and dissolve them from the inside – I was very very careful not to spill that!
