• Question: why are there two genders because there is only one gender for snails?

      I don’t think we really know! One explanation is that having two different genders during reproduction leads to more biodiversity, which we need to grow and evolve. It then allows us to survive in more harsh and complex environments. And I think it shows in the fact that we’re probably a bit more intelligent as humans than snails are!

      Different genders seems to keep us genetically diverse as humans, but any way to keep diversity around seems to work in the animal kingdom – evolution is a creative thing – it’ll find almost any solution to a problem!
