• Question: will CERN have enough energy to make high mass sparticles

      Hopefully! We’re not sure yet, to be honest. We don’t know what mass the sparticles are likely to have. We’ll just have to keep looking at higher and higher energies, and keep building bigger and bigger particle accelerators. I think if CERN doesn’t find anything in the next ten years though, that would be a strong indicator that sparticles might not exist after all.

      That would be a shame, I think, because supersymmetry is a really elegant bit of theoretical physics. Until the evidence is in, though, we can’t know if it’s true or not!
