      @288frcc29 The Big Bang – but there is plenty of space for both. It’s all a matter of interpretation.

      I believe in the Big Bang, but some people believe both and some believe neither. Some scientists are atheists (don’t believe in any gods), but some are religious. Religious belief, or lack of it, is no barrier to becoming a scientist. It’s worth weighing up the evidence on both sides and deciding for yourself!

      My scientific conviction is that based on the evidence we have, the Big Bang occurred. But I don’t think “the big bang or god” is really the choice to be making, unless you subscribe to a literal interpretation of the Bible – even the Vatican endorses the theory of the Big Bang, since it leaves room for a Creator to have triggered the Big Bang, and set up the rules our universe follows. Personally I would rather believe in a God who values our intelligence and our drive for knowledge than one who tells us not to be curious, and I think there’s space there for both.
