• Question: if there was no gravity and we were all floating around in the universe would we be able to survive and if so would you enjoy it because I think it would be pretty cool

      @bellaTGS well our bodies are not designed to be in a weightless environment and the long term effects can be very damaging – bones weaken, muscles lose all their strength because they don’t have to resist anything, eye-pressure changes. Also you end up with brain problems and possibly the early onset of dementia

      I like the feeling of weightlessness, but over time it takes its toll on our bodies. Interestingly, it seems that men and women respond to weightlessness a little differently – men tend to suffer more eyesight problems and hearing loss (bizarrely) in their left ear, which women don’t suffer from. Women tend to have a harder time returning from space, because their bodies have a harder time adjusting to standing than men to. There’s a handy graphic here:
