I am using high resolution images of the Suns surface and light curve data of other stars. For the high resolution I analyse them by first tracking, rotating and transforming them into datacubes around a point of interest. Then, I can do various operations to let say, work out the surface acoustic energy, or a thing called eggression that basically maps all the surface waves back to the source that has produced them. For the light curves I deal with, I do an operation called fast fourier transform, this basically means take the changing light in time and transform it into the amount of light produced by set frequencies. This is then called an oscillation spectra, that I can really play around with!
