• Question: What happens in a black hole?

      At the centre of a black hole there’s something called a ‘singularity’, where it looks like there’s the biggest mass you could possibly imagine, all in the smallest space you could possibly imagine! The truth is, we don’t really know what it is, but we do know that because of the mass being squashed up so much, there’s a huge amount of gravity that would suck you in.

      In fact, if you were to go too close to a black hole, and you were diving in head first for example, it would pull on your head more than on your toes and you’d get all stretched out! That’s actually called spaghettification, pretty good name I think.
