• Question: will there ever be a cure for terminal illness?

      @Sophie x I think by definition “terminal illness” means that it an illness from which someone dies. So no, there will never be a cure for terminal illness. But I do think people will live longer and longer, and illnesses will be better treated as more is learnt about the illness and the medicines to treat them, and as the costs of medicines come down.

      I’d just like to second Lidunka’s answer – I’m not sure we’ll ever eradicate all illnesses completely, but we’ll hopefully find cures for some serious ones like cancer and so on, and we’ll hopefully learn to better treat the ones we can’t cure, letting people live comfortably for longer.
